Excellent
instructional guide., December 14, 2003 Reviewer: Turbine (Redan

The book gives a brief history and then launches into various moves. A
frame by frame instructional guide of the different steps is given and a brief
explaination of the move. I've read a few breakdance guides, but none come
close to this.

This is definitely a nice package - I appreciate the combo of history
(roots of breakdance - in martial arts, acrobatics, capoeira, etc) along with
the graphics and, of course, the "how to" series of moves. The photographs
of b-boys/girls in this volume really illustrate the art. Hot book, I recommend
it to anyone looking to learn more about breaking, and certainly to anyone
practicing! Bring on the volumes...
Hip-Hop handbook
comprehensive and professional, July 28, 2003 Reviewer: Shara Beth
Smith (Bellingham, WA)
This guide book is tight! It has the right information paired with amazing
photos and graphics. I would defenitely recommend it to the beginner, or connoisseur
of breakdancing! Mr. Green's capoeira and breakdancing skills are toned and
precise, so his first book is truly a pleasure to read and follow. I look
forward to future volumes. ~Shara B. Smith..Western Washington University,

City Libraries:
Check out the book 'Hip Hop Handbook Volume 1: Breakdance'. As far as
learning breaking from a book, this is a great resource, with step by step
guidelines on moves from easy to hard. It also has interviews and everything
else you need to start off in breakdancing. Also, for the visual side of things,
check out 'The Freshest Kids: A history of the B-Boy' on DVD.
